A new work from the Studio! This painting explores and celebrates the ripples and rhythms of an exquisite bay south of Agawa Provincial Park. We had a beautiful weather day, paddling the bays and islands scattered along the great lake's shoreline. When we reached this bay we had to stop and scramble onto the rocks to take it in. Rippling light on the water and rocks danced and gleamed. I thought about the story the bay told of two great forces, one the lake and the other the ancient and worn mountains. The mountains standing as an indomitable barrier to the lake's desire to carve itself further inland. And yet on this day both spirits sparkled and danced.
