This new work is from my recent trip to the north shore of Lake Superior, where my husband and I explored by kayak. The hill with its prominent shape and height could be seen peering above the shorescape for miles. Finally I turned into a cove and found it in full backdrop to the sheltered spot. The cove itself wild and forgotten with sculpted cliffs to protect its shore was welcoming. I felt the presence of an ancient spirit, a force that has withstood epochs of time.
The painting was recently exhibited and sold at the Paula White Diamond Gallery in Waterloo, Ontario.
